We all fail, the Bible is rife with with examples of the failures of even the most venerated figures we read about. King David was guilty of having a man murdered to get his wife. Solomon was drawn away in his affections to God by wives who were foreigners. Lot was guilty of incest. In fact the Bible takes great pains to faithfully render each mans account as it was, the good and the bad. God in His manifold wisdom transcribes faithfully what man is. We can thank Him for that, if we didn’t have a realistic view of the heart of man, the propensity for discouragement in not being able to measure up to these giants of faith we read about, would be overwhelming as we would never be able to measure up to those we admire in the Bible. No, God in His wisdom, tells it like it is.
as it is written:
“None is righteous, no, not one;
no one understands;
no one seeks for God.
All have turned aside; together they have become worthless;
no one does good,
not even one.”

Fortunately, our failures aren’t based on submitting to Him, rather those times when we aren’t submitted to Him. There’s the rub, if we submit to Him, and allow Him to work through us, He can never fail at anything. 🙂

What I wrote at the original post: “Amen, this puts it in perspective especially as we serve the LORD we can easily change what God wants from faithfulness to something else (influence, worldly success, etc).”
