You are so spoiled, Wally!
You know what they try to do with chicken fried steak up here? Make it with actual chicken and try to put brown gravy on it. It’s okay, it’s good, but still. My mother in law told me if anyone tried that around me, I was free to throw them out. 🙂

That actually is chicken…chicken fried chicken…sounds odd, right. Of course chicken fried steak is pretty wonderful too, and we eat that often.
IB…I am so very spoiled. We both are, really. If I work a long day, supper waiting for me is almost as certain as the day turning to night.
Hmm…I will probably get in trouble for that, so I better caveat that some. Whoever is home..cooks. Just usually she is home wayyyyyyyyyyy before me.
And I am with your mother in law. I like brown gravy, too..but it’s just not for fried things! Well..wait..yeah it is actually quite good on chicken livers.

I tried chicken fried steak once (or it might have been chicken…I’m not sure) at this place in North Carolina. I had heard about it but it’s not something you see around here, so I was curious to try it for myself.
I was so disappointed! It was the white gravy. *shudder* I can only assume that it is not *meant* to look and taste like wallpaper paste, but unfortunately it ruined the meal for me! Shame, because everybody raves about it. Perhaps one day I’ll give it another try. I really wanted to like it!
January 23, 2017 at 21:00
Well yeah bad white gravy is bad bad bad
Come join the crowd at my place and we will have it done right!

Just curious, is it cold where you are this time of year? Like, compared to Canada…
January 23, 2017 at 21:16
Oh not that way at all!
Last week it got into the low 70s in fact
We have had one slow and it was gone before the day was over
So it may seem cold to us but its not compared to other places . I spent seven winters in Wyoming so I know cold lol
January 23, 2017 at 21:21
Oh wow, that sounds so pleasant! I guess you pay for it in the summer?
January 23, 2017 at 21:27
Summers are pretty rough heat index is regularly over 100
We have four very clear seasons its pretty really
I like growing things and our growing season for ornamental stuff is seven months long easy and there are crops in almost all year
How about you. I know you live in canada but that’s it

Heads up…I am about to publish a post I suspect you may enjoy. I am having quite the rant. LOL Be about 10 minutes

Wally, I’m almost speechless, the post is so good. It gets an A+.

Well, Tom, I owe you in some ways. It’s some of our talking, and the example you set by always saying what is needful, that finally pushed me to write my thoughts down.
You know all these go in a face book group I have, and most of my readers are local folks, many of whom will not like that, if they actually bother to read it.
