Wally, my wife threw a party Saturday night at our place for her workmates. To make some extra counter space she put our regular 2-cup coffee maker somewhere and when I woke up yesterday morning I couldn’t find it. Arrrgh! The misery!
I let her sleep in but that turned out to be much later than I anticipated. Grrrrr! She had tucked it in a cupboard but I couldn’t find it for the life of me.
Yup, the donuts are terrible (just as well) but DD’s coffee is pretty good. I like it better than Starbucks which always tastes like somebody extinguished their cigarette in it. Yeah, there’s a DD on every corner and we now also have a lot of Tim Horton’s. All the manufacturing has left but boy do we have coffee!!!
I am not a fan of Starbucks myself. I do love a wide variety of coffees, though. I used to grind all mine from the beans, but got lazy. Been thinking about it again lately.
They have a coffee grinding machine at the supermarket for a brand called Eight O’Clock coffee. I’m going to have to try that instead of the cheap pre-ground store brand I pick up. There’s a noticeable difference between my home brew and DD or Tim Horton’s.
It does make a difference in the quality. Those big cans tend to go stale very quickly, and that’s even for me, and I go through it pretty fast. I will say this, the quality of a coffee maker, and treating the coffee right does make a big difference in the cup one gets.

This truly is living water that I drink from every morning….and throughout most days!

I am semi famous in my workplace for drinking coffee no matter the temperature outside. 100 deg in August and I still have my thermos!

Well…no worries. I have a backup! I normally use my Ninja Coffee Bar, but still have the Keurig if I need it!

I was almost headed out the door to Dunkin Donuts! If I had known initially how late she was going to sleep, there would have been no holding me back!

Now, that I remember about the Northeast. I spend two months in Manchester NH once, and there was a Dunkin Donuts on every corner it seemed like.

Thanks, Wally. I’m going to try the grind-your-own and see if there’s a difference.
