Thanks for the good sermon, Wally! Yeah, we can easily choose the easiest/laziest path and tell ourselves we’re serving God just fine.

Sure enough. How are you, Tom?

Thanks for asking, Wally. It’s a little hectic at our house as I’ve been busy getting all the “red tape” things done that need to get done when laid off, insurance, medical, lawyer, blah, blah, but nothing you haven’t gone through. What’s going on with your diagnosis lately? My high blood reading Saturday AM was a blip. It was back down a couple of hours later. Getting knocked out of the routine is a little unsettling although I know I’m preaching to the choir. Throughout the Lord is good. I need to write a post about the last month. God has done some amazing things throughout. Anyway, I’d like to know what’s going on with you?

Well, I’ve been really closely monitoring the glucose. I’ve been taking it after my normal between meal fasting, and then 2 hours after eating as those seem to be the important bechmarks. It’s rather astounding just what simple modifications can do quickly. Sunday we had our 5th Sunday potluck and I ate just like I always would have. Even had my standard 3 desserts. Two hours later, it was only 135. Crazy huh? I am hoping Wednesday when I see the Doctor, I can say,”Are you sure I actually have a problem?” I have logged all the checks, so will go armed with almost a weeks worth.
Tom, I feel you on the job things. It’s tough at our age to suddenly be without one. It’s tough out there in the market for guys past 55. I pray for you daily. My wife and I have together for you. Don’t let it whack your health out if you can help it, as that can happen quickl.

Glad the glucose readings are not spiking. Let me know how the MD visit goes. I had one spike in the 130s on a lab blood test and my doc has been closely watching me for the last 10 years. Thanks for both your prayers! I really appreciate that. It would be easy to get into a funk over this but I’m going to make job hunting my routine (in addition to my walking & exercise). Kodak provides free help from a job placement firm for a year and I’m going to make the first call tomorrow. I turned in my laptop to Kodak today. I’m going to miss it. Our Chrome book just doesn’t have the bells and whistles for blog post editing.

My father in law goes to my church; I sometimes wonder what that’s like for him. Wonder if its analogous to you going to Cody’s church in some way

Similar I expect. Some different since I raised Cody though.

I’m good with it. He’s a good pastor.
