The Consistency of Prophecy
“But those things, which God before had shewed by the mouth of all his prophets, that Christ should suffer, he hath so fulfilled,” Acts 3:18
There is nothing like the consistency of prophetic truth, especially when we see that truth was fulfilled in the birth, life, death and resurrection of Jesus. In the Garden of Eden, God told the serpent, after Adam and Eve had sinned, “And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel” (Genesis 3:15). From that point in time, every prophecy in the Old Testament about Christ has been fulfilled concerning His birth, life, death and resurrection.
With those prophecies coming to pass, why would anyone doubt that future prophecies will also be fulfilled? But the scoffers and doubters, mock God, His Word, and live like there are no consequences for their disbelief. However, when Jesus breaks through that Eastern sky, and the trumpet sounds, and their Christian friends leave their useless bodies behind to meet Jesus in the air, then will they believe?
I am ready for the trumpet, how about you?
REFLECTION: “Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord; and he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you” (Acts 3:19, 20)
