Days of Tribulation Are Ahead
“For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be,” Matthew 24: 21.
This description of the great tribulation is very frightening, “such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be” (verse 21). Nothing can be compared with the time Jesus refers to in the future. We can only imagine what it might be like from the information that Jesus gives us in these verses. Deceivers of all kinds, will be popping up from all over the world.
The things that will happen during this time will be so bad and destructive that everyone will die if God does not give it a time limit. God will limit the time for the “elect’s sake” (verse 22).
Jesus is giving this warning to His disciples to make them aware of the great tragedy for the unsaved. It is a warning for believers today that we will become frightened for those who have no fear of judgment for themselves.
REFLECTION: “For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ. Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should
live together with him. Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do” (1 Thessalonians 5:9-11).
