God clearly expects us to use the brains He gave us, Isaiah 1:18 “Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.” Yet, no amount of proof and logic will ever convince a lost person to believe, or a saved person to actually follow Him daily. Ultimately each of those choices is a problem of the heart. Hebrews 11:6 “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” Excellent post, Mike
The other night a friend of mine was talking about when he went to have heart surgery. He said there was a doctor he had spoken to for about five minutes, a anesthetist he had just met, a nurse that had spent about a half hour with him and several others that had just been around.
Yet, when they put him under, he trusted each one to do their job and to do it well.
He also said that he had passes a semi on a two-lane highway that was traveling at a slow rate of speed and all that made him certain going on around was safe was an arm hanging out the window of the semi motioning to go ahead.
Even though he didn’t know this guy waving the hand, somehow he managed to trust him with a situation that could be life-threatening.
