Percy loves his recliner. I suspect he tolerates the human he shares it with LOL.

funny, our human pushes our Percy off his lap when in said recliner as he claims our Percy
makes him too hot. So our Percy, comes to the one who truly loves him, and snuggles up 🙂

I like it when he gets up there. The only problem is that when he goes to sleep I get sleepy too and don’t get my work done!

We had a “dog whisperer” animal behaviorist come to the house last week because of our dog’s anxiety issues – like having panic attacks at 2 am somewhat regularly. One of the new guidelines is, our dog can no longer sleep on the sofa. She’s not liking that!!!
January 22, 2019 at 05:31
Interesting. What is the reason and objective for that, Tom?
January 22, 2019 at 05:45
She says that we have given the dog way too much freedom. Dogs have a pack mentality and because our dog is catered to so much, she assumes she is the alpha dog but she can’t handle that responsibility so it comes out as anxiety. So we have to become the alpha dogs in her eyes so that she can ease into anxiety-less, comfortable submission. Sounds like canine psycho-babble but it makes sense in our circumstance and we’re already seeing results. We’re practicing sit-stay drills every day which teaches/reinforces her submission.

Actually it makes total sense. I sort of figured that. Didn’t know it would translate into anxiety though. Hierarchy is very important to most animals. Even Percy recognizes me as the Alpha cat.

I don’t wish to always “spiritualize” every topic, but this situation with our dog reminded me of how we often try to right wrongs in the flesh and according to our will – leading to frustration and anxiety – rather than humbly submitting to our Shepherd.
You are welcome to spirtualize around here anytime you want, my friend.

Thanks, Wally! It’s rather hard for a believer not to spiritualize everything! 🙂

Tom. Go read this post, and follow the comments through to the end, the last 4 or so especially. Then pray really, really hard.

Wally, I have prayed for Steve and will continue to do so throughout the day.
