We Are To Test Every Spirit
“Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are
of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world,” 1 John 4:1.
Do you know why there are so many false religions in the world, in America, in your town? Mainly, there are so many false religions because people did not try the spirits to see whether they are of God or not. They did not dig into the Scriptures to see if the Bible taught an alternate way to Heaven other than through the redemptive blood of Christ. Truthfully, the Holy Spirit will not lead contrary to the Scriptures.
Therefore, if someone says that you must do this or that—apart from the belief in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus—to enter into Heaven after death, then he is not being led by the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit will guide him to the truth, if he will sincerely seek the truth. He will not lead you to believe a lie.
The only conclusion we can draw is that if someone follows false doctrine, he is not looking for the truth.
REFLECTION: “For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist” (2 John 7).
