Mark, over at THOUGHTS FROM MARK “HAT” RACKLEY
tagged me in this Q an A tag, and it seemed fun. I don’t usually play in these due to time, but suddenly I seem to have time. Plus, I am not very imaginative and rather uptight, so random fun things can be a struggle for me LOL.
Here are the rules.
1. Answer the questions you receive (straight, funny, absurd, up to you)
2. Provide three new questions of your own
3. Tag three people
My questions:
1. What should a Christian’s (or a church’s) primary focus be during the Advent season, or simply choose between anticipation of the Christmas celebration or anticipation of Christ’s return?
Well, this one is simple for me. In our work, we don’t actually observe any of the traditional seasons that are celebrated such as Advent and Lent. So, we focus on the same thing as always, the preaching and spread of the Gospel message. Of course, the incarnation of our Lord was hugely important, so obviously we talk about it a lot during this time of year.
2. In your blog writing, what are your chief goals, for the present and long-term?
Again, that would be the spread of the Gospel message primarily, but the fellowship and encouragement around here are great too.
3. Almost everyone has one of these memories of a grandparent, aunt, uncle, whatever. This is a multipart question. Who gave you the same thing at Christmas every year? What was the predictable gift? And did you even like it?
Well, I don’t really recall that happening. I do recall my grandfather on my Dad’s side always bringing me a banana when he visited, though. I love them lol. He always wore this big overcoat and it was fun to figure out which pocket it was in. I remember once my Mom and I got a care basket one year when things were really rough, and some rocket scientist put something like 8 cans of cranberry sauce in it. We didn’t have much, so we ate every one of those things. I hate that stuff, still.
My questions:
- What is your favorite family tradition, not just for Advent, but for all of the time?
- What was your favorite family vacation you ever took and why?
- Describe your perfect meal.
- Bonus question: Is a frog’s butt waterproof?
My tagees are(and I will NOT be offended if you do not play, as I usually don’t either):
Don from My Heart Is For Israel
Tom from ExCatholic For Christ
Be blessed, and enjoy!

Wally ~ And I thought we were friends. HeHe. Going to have to pray about this one overnight. Normally, the only one who has gotten me to do something similar is my half-sister on Facebook. I know tadpoles butts are waterproof, so I assume frogs are as well.

I suspect you are correct about the frogs Don. I also understand how you feel as things like this are not easy for me.

Wally ~ After careful consideration and prayer, I am going to decline the offer. It would require too big a stretch for me right now when my head is pounding from this cold I have developed.

Okay, Wally. I’ve had my java and I’m now clear-headed so it’s time to tackle those Calculus questions:
1) Favorite family tradition – Argh! That’s a tough one because I’m not really big on traditions myself. Here’s a semi-tradition: When our youngest son who is stationed down in Texas comes up for his yearly visit and we sit down and watch a good ballgame together – especially if it’s the Knicks – that’s a bond that we’ve shared since he was a very little guy.
2) My favorite family vacation – It’s not even close, the recent trip to NYC with our two sons. Such a blessing. How often are parents able to go on a trip just with their adult, forty-something children? Such a good time.
3) Perfect meal – Another easy one. There’s not a better dinner in the world compared to a Sal’s Birdland chicken dinner. A fried half-chicken (no batter coating) smothered in Sal’s Sassy Sauce sitting on two slices of white bread with a big mound of delicious mac salad. Yup, my mouth is watering as I type this. If I drive to Sal’s all the way on the other side of town for two dinners to go tonight, it’s your fault.

4) Bonus question – Is this a trick question? Man, you had me scampering to Google. The consensus is, no, a frog’s butt is NOT waterproof!

4. Actually amazes me. We use that as a form or sarcasm when somebody asks a dumb question. “Really? Is a frog’s butt waterproof.” Maybe we need to relook our sarcasm LOL.

Oh, I get it. That’s not a colloquialism heard up here in WNY!
