John 12:42,43
We sure like to throw rocks at those lousy Pharisees, don’t we? We like to sit back and judge them for their legalism, hypocrisy and rejection. Here is the bad news; we can very much be them. Atheism, the simple lack of a belief in any god or gods, has been replaced by the New Atheism. Rather than simply resting in their state of disbelief, the New Atheists have a plan and an agenda; that plan is the eradication of faith in general and the Christian Faith in particular. The tools of this are mockery, name calling, cultural pressure and even legislation. They want to put us out of the Synagogue so to speak.
As non-believers, we fall prey to this pressure and reject Jesus ourselves. Even as saved children of God, we fall prey to this and wander away under the pressures of this world. We, too love the praise of that world more than the praise of God.
Friends, Jesus has this. Some 2000 years ago God made Himself in the form of the man Jesus Christ, and walked this Earth for the specific reason to save us from ourselves and offer us a place eternally with Him. Jesus IS God, and has all the power of God. The praise and approval of men today may satisfy us in the moment, but our eyes need to be on the praise of God in the forever.

Atheism is a religion, although they will never admit it. Their god is themselves. It’s sad to see Christians reverting back to the worldly ways and amazes me how some can agree with the atrocities that God forbids.

Yes, indeed Sue. It is amazing but yet hardly a surprise is it?

To me it is surprising because if we are hearing the sermons in Bible teaching churches and read the Bible I don’t understand how someone can just agree with “worldly” laws, attitudes, and behaviors. The “live and let live” attitudes have become a virus across this country and look where it’s taken us. Nobody is willing to confront because of all this “political correctness” garbage and it’s destroying America.

You claim, “Atheism is a religion.” Do you have a dictionary, if so please check out the massive difference between atheism and religion.

Steve. Hi.
Okay. Read closely. I know you find reading painful, preferring to just bloviate. Try if you can.
You freely admit you do not have time to read the Bible, yet you bloviate about it endlessly.
You freely admit you do not have time to read science books, yet you bloviate about science endlessly.
You apparently do not have time to read dictionaries. You are attempting to bloviate about that too, but I am cutting you off at the knees. One of the definitions of religion from the Merriam Webster online dictionary is as follows:
4 :a cause, principle, or system of beliefs held to with ardor and faith
You are a VERY religious man. Far more, in fact, than any Christian I know.
Bye bye!

I do investigate and read science and Bible passages when required Wally, however I do not have the time to sit down for hours and read everything there is to know about either of them. You on the other hand are a very devoted, dedicated and obsessed Christian theist who preaches the word to indoctrinate heathen adults and children on a regular basis and you strictly apply the word of God to your own life through the Biblical scriptures. In contrast, I do not live my life for any deity or through any book, scientific or religious.
I have the idea that you do not like the fact I am able to access the information I require on the web pages and it is not creditable because I have not studied the Bible for 10 years.
FYI my former occupation for about 14 years was at a military explosive ordnance depot and I have blogged other interested parties on occasion regarding certain issues regarding the technical aspects of the work I carried out. I understand I must be very careful to be accurate with my comments because all the information that I knew to do my job, and much more is on line and readily available to challenge anything I may say. Therefore Wally, swallow your pride and just accept what you know anyone can know, as a fact.

Years ago, when I first discovered Twitter, I was enthusiastically following back everyone who followed me, unless a quick cursory glance at their profile revealed that they were really creepy, in which case I did not follow them back.
Somehow, in the flurry of those early days, it escaped my notice that one of my followers/followees is a well-known atheist scientist, the author of mega bestselling books on the topic of new atheism.
One Sunday morning I checked my Twitter feed before heading off to church and was surprised to see a newly posted tweet by this fellow that said: “I hope there isn’t a god. Who needs the constant supervision?” His tweet was immediately “liked” by the famous atheist scientist who lives in a wheelchair.
Think about it: these two world-renowned, bestselling, “brilliant” scientists, famous for their arguments about the supposed evidence against the existence of God, were boldly stating that underneath their intellectual bluster, is a forlorn, rebellious hope that they can say and do and believer whatever they want, without ever having to answer to God.
I took a screenshot of that tweet and saved it to my computer. Even after all these years, it still makes me shake my head.

Lynda that was pretty much a perfect statement about the issue. Well said and many thanks.
As they say, gird your loins for some will be sorely displeased by what you just said.

My friend describe an atheist in a definition I can agree with and understand. “They have to believe there is a God to believe one does not exist.” Yep, they “believe”. Excellent post Wally.

Did you know I also believe there is a Superman, a Batman and an Alice in wonderland just to believe they do not exist? Really?
I can understand if English is not your first language, however I bet you are an indoctrinated American Christian who is trying to mutilate the Kings English to suit your idealistic beliefs.

Steve. Hi. Look, you getting on to somebody for mutilating the Kings’ English is absurd. Enough said on that. Steve, is the problem here that we are Americans or that we are Christians? I get confused sometimes.
At any rate, if you follow American baseball you will understand when I say that is two strikes for you on this thread. You have responded to two of my friends with no more than condescension and insults. Three, and you are out. This is not a negotiation point. Got that, Steve? If you want to have a discussion, have one. But spare the insulting language.

Wally I won’t “like” comment so it doesn’t post. I am not sure who or what you mean? “The attracted one?” I did notice last night a new follower of question which disturbed me, but I brought it to Jesus. I believe the days are here my Brother in Christ. We may also have to risk it all to follow Jesus. Thank you.

Insult? How? Calling someone as an indoctrinated American Christian is an insult, huh, come again? Accusation of Mutilating the Kings English is insulting, yes? Did you not write that I bloviate endlessly? It is so easy to invent an insult and delete comments if you are the administrator.

Steve. I can only suggest that if you find the blogging conditions here restrictive that you blog elsewhere. Your goal, like the rest of the atheist evangelists, is to harangue and bully others from their faith. You just aren’t especially good at it. Point being I won’t allow that here. As I said, if that bothers you the bye. P.s I don’t delete your comments. That my friend is a lie.
