It is a great comfort to know there is no condemnation to those in Christ. We rejoice and rightly so. At the same time it’s good to evaluate what we are doing for His kingdom. He will reward those things that we have done for Him, conversely it’s wise to remember, all wood, hay and stubble will be burned up and the reward we could have had will be gone forever for those things. âDo not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
Good morning. I have no wish to be contentious, but I don’t understand your questions. That thought mentioned nothing about the second death, so I am unclear as to what you meant. I also struggle somewhat with your parenthetical(according to you) statement. I don’ write things according to me. Your statement seems a bit contentious right out of the chute, and that doesn’t interest me at all.
With the text “we will never be judged eternally for our sin; we will be evaluated and rewarded for what we do with the gift of Salvation” you give the impression that everybody is saved and shall not receive an eternal punishment for the sins they have done, though Jesus his parable are clear that it is not so easy to come into the Kingdom of God, the road bing narrow and the gate very small. In Scripture is also told that the son of God has been authorised to speak and judge in name of his heavenly Father, the Only One true God, and that this son of man shall sent several people into the second death, which shall be for ever. You overlooked that punishment and naturally did not mention it therefore. We just wanted to remind you and your readers about that damnation which can hang in the air for those who do not want to do any works, like the most important: first of all to repent. Without repentance and without faith in God there shall be no way to enter the Kingdom of God.
AhâŚyes. I thought this was the case. You said:
âWith the text âwe will never be judged eternally for our sin; we will be evaluated and rewarded for what we do with the gift of Salvationâ you give the impression that everybody is saved and shall not receive an eternal punishment for the sins they have doneâ
That is not actually what I said, and frankly your cutting off the first part of my statement is actually quite a misrepresentation of what I actually said. What I actually said is that save children of God will not face eternal damnation for their sins. That is IF they have accepted Godâs gift of grace and exercised saving faith is Jesus Christ. I absolutely do not believe all will be saved, and nothing I said in that thought indicates that. So, I thank you to not pick apart my statements to say something I did not.
You said:

I concur, and I have never said otherwise.

I concur with first part of this, and if you have read here you know that. I teach that constantly. I did not overlook and naturally not mention anything.

Absolutely false. We are not save by works, nor do works keep us saved.
Ephesians 2:8-10
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
Repentance, as it relates to salvation, is not works. No one has to âclean upâ to come to Jesus. Repentance as related to salvation is the simple realization of our sinful state, and coming to an agreement with God that we have transgressed His standards and are deserving of punishment. This repentance is NOT ceasing to sin and making our selves better. After all , of or our works are âlike filthy rags.â The repentance you speak of comes after our regeneration by the Holy Spirit, when we DO work to become more Holy and Christlike.
My friend. We donât work or way to heaven. Jesus did that work for us. If you truly believe that we have to earn our way to heaven, then you also believe that Jesus was not enough. If you are striving and struggling to work your way to heaven, stop, because you WILL fail in that effort. Understand that salvation is 100 percent by the grace of God, the atoning work of Jesus Christ, and the power of the Holy Spirit. Our part, is indeed repentance(not works) and faith.

Who are then (according to you) those who shall receive the second death?
