Maybe it should say – Good, Good, Let difference in Biblical doctrine divide you, feel the power of division!

Well, that is certainly a valid point you have made Ben. I don’t disagree a bit. Some things are certainly not worth dividing over. On the other hand we ought not to be indifferent to it. The study of it matters a great deal, and I think we are expected to apply ourselves to that study. Having done that we may very well arrive over different conclusions as to the meaning of some things. Hence some people go to church A, and some to church B. We find unity among us that way, and church A and B folks remain brothers and sisters in Christ.
I bet you didn’t expect all that did you?

Wally, I appreciate the meme and your comment above. I’m in unity with all of my brothers and sisters in the Lord through our shared salvation by God’s grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone. We have our secondary differences, sure. There’s many fellowships I would not feel comfortable worshipping at and vice versa, but that’s NOTHING compared to the salvation we share in Christ. That’s our unity. The problem starts when genuine salvation in Christ based on right doctrine is side-stepped for a false unity. Something like, “Oh, you love Jesus? Me too! Let’s just hold hands and sing Kumbaya together.” Unfortunately, that kind of phony “unity” has gained a foothold and is spreading, meaning less and less people are hearing the genuine Gospel of grace. You don’t believe Jesus is the eternal Son of God and a member of the Trinity? No problem. You believe you must obey the Ten Commandments in order to merit Heaven? Fine. We won’t quibble over details. Etc.

If we know who is truly the voice behind such spirit today it would be frightening…

Yes. Actually, we do know, and it can be frightening. But greater is He that is in us than he who is in the world…so it doesn’t have to frighten us.

Oh dear, that struck home. I have been guilty of that in the past, but over the last two years I have made drastic life changes and I have seen the benefits of following the principles I learn in the Bible.

Sadly Lynn, there are folks out there with nothing better to do than try to convince us that God’s Word is useless. Thanks for coming by.
