Hi Julie! Hope you are well today! Yes, indeed, we just sit like lumps and let the world have it’s way. Saw your post title this morning. “Isms” been trying to get my way there, as that was catchy. Just haven’t made it yet.

We Christians are soooo worldly. Argh!

We love our stuff a lot, don’t we Tom? We love our stuff enough to tell the whole world. Why don’t we love Jesus that much?

Yup, we freak out at ball games like its life or death. And when we see a Christian get that excited we knowingly elbow each other and say “Typical newbie.”

That is depressingly true. Shame on us if we do that, as nothing sadder than a new believer whose fire gets doused by the veterans. I do recall some older folks giving me warnings about how reality would calm me down a bit. Thanks to Him, I am much too bull headed for that, though.

LOL. Sometimes it takes a new believer to show us how lethargic we’ve become. It’s like a marriage. Those honeymoon days were at a fever pitch but the relationship cools down over time with the routines, etc. It’s a trite saying but we really have to put some effort into our relationship with our wives, …and the Lord. What a wonderful analogy God used by describing our relationship with Him as a marriage. But I think women can appreciate this comparison better than men.

I know right? When I first learned that our marriages are supposed to be a model for our relationship and future wedding with The Lord, it just blew me away. Indeed, though, a good relationship of any sort won’t be the best it can be unless we put some effort into it. Works, I suppose we might say. We might say works don’t get us married, but they do enhance and develop the marriage.

It’s not just our words. Our actions must demonstrate that what we say is true and that we are sincere. I have thought much about this. Thank you for the reminder.
Thank you for that imput, Robert. Words are pretty much meaningless if we are no different, aren’t they?

Let’s think about this for a second. If the world claims we are turning the world upside down by our witness, then in all actuality we must be turning the world right side up. After all, it was through the original sin that the world was turned upside down. Just thinking out loud. 🙂
