My brother did this once with a Pringles potato chip, which he inserted sideways across his mouth so that when he slowly crunched down on it, it would make an optimal crunching sound. My mother stopped him and said, “Oh, wait, we haven’t prayed.” He sat there with his mouth wide open, Pringle suspended between his teeth across the opening while she prayed, very slowly, for each of our relatives by name. I think she had gotten to the great-aunts when we heard a very defined CRUNCH from his direction.

Ba ha ha ha ha! How bad of trouble did he get in?
April 16, 2017 at 14:21
Considering that my mother was baiting him with her long prayer, he got off with a chuckle that time.

Ya’ll sound fun to me! I would do that to somebody lol

LOL that’s the look people give me at church when they dig in before their meal
April 17, 2017 at 16:42
Well we often say…Lord, bless the food we already ate LOL.

LOL. When our church goes out to eat at Mexican food restaurant there’s a debate whether or theology of prayer should be pre-chips, post-chips but some guys are mid-chips like in the picture.
April 17, 2017 at 17:06
Mid chips…now that’s a Navy/Marine joke for sure. Midchipman LOL. I guess we are post chips folks, as when we eat Mexican it’s when the main course comes.

LOL! Wow you got a Marine/Navy joke in that one too!

Wally, I hope everything is OK? Haven’t seen a post from you in awhile and I’m wondering if you are all right.

Yes, I am fine LOL. It’s my quarterly overload at word is all. Seems every few months they adjust our performance metrics for our guys. Suddenly, everybody has to crank it up a few notches just to make the money they have been making. We always adjust, but when it happens it takes almost all of me to keep things together. Takes a lot of encouragement, and sadly enforcement to get everybody on line with changes. Usually I do a few weeks with not even a day off when this happens, and it’s that time again LOL. It will even out, as it always does. This time has been harder than usual, and I fear we are reaching a breaking point. So, either it will break or folks will bail out. Either way, it will get better. Just when it happens, I just don’t have anything left over after working from 430 in the morning until 6 at night most days. Add that this week I caught the teaching rotation for both Sunday morning and night for two weeks, and I have just been really overloaded. Thanks for checking in, though, Tom; that means a lot.

Great to hear you’re doing okay, Wally, except for the very long hours. 4:30AM-6PM??? I’d be in emergency after a week of that. Hang in there, brother. I pray you get some relief soon!!!

Hi Tom. My job is unusual on a lot of ways. I have 12 technicians working for me and we cover most of South Arkansas 7 days a week 365 days a year. So, really unless I get somebody to cover me, I more or less work 7 days a week, at least fielding calls. I don’t have an office I go to; my workplace is my van, phone, and laptop. So, the 43o us actually at the house when I review our routes for the day and check equipment, and the 600 is about when the last guy usually finishes up. I’ve always been that way in life, very Type A personality, so to me it’s not that big a deal.

I’m a Type B in slow motion, Wally. That job would ruin me in about one week.

Type B in slow motion now that’s funny Tom

My youngest has that look on his face every mean but I suppose because he is always first to get his plate and sit down. I always say that I don’t care if he waits for me but it wouldn’t kill him to wait for someone to thank God.

That’s a good reply lol
