It actually is very serene. Most of the time. Till the crazy guy down in the bad part of the road roars by on his low rider chopper LOL. But, that’s another story that I can’t tell and maintain my witness . LOL.
We too have that “bad part of the road” with the jacked up trucks, and the idiots who relish throwing the spit cups and beer bottles at the road sign up on the road by our fence—one day I’ll write about the sort of “crap” I have to pick up weekly doing trash duty on the road frontage and how I often loath us lazy materialistic Americans who obviously have more than we need if we find pleasure in discarding it out a window! but I digress….now back to the serenity of your across the street neighbors—you have horses and I have rodeo bulls 🙂
We do pick up a bunch of the kids from down that way in the Church Van every Sunday, though, so that’s a good thing I suppose. One of the little girls has adopted me for some reason. I think I may be the first grown up man that was actually nice to her. Makes me very sad all that. So many kids just need some love. Me and low rider had an unfortunate encounter one night along the road. He rides by my place fast these days.
ain’t no doubt Wally—kind of like me hollering out at the dude throwing crap from his jacked up and reeved up truck when he didn’t think anyone was looking as i was coming up the driveway as he was in the act of tossing—I scared him when I hollered and now he quickly scoots past as that they he watched me form his rear view mirror picking up his crap!
Yes, you and I are both very blessed. The deer are emptying their “dish” of corn but they’re doing it at night. I’m hoping they’ll start coming earlier so I can see them. You definitely have a beautiful yard/acreage.
One of them last year, “Betsy” liked to snip the flowers off the Rose of Sharon I have near the “dinner plate.” She’s the deer that I could walk up to and once I got onto her about picking the flowers she quit doing it. Okay, I’m not crazy! She really did stop doing it. There’s a bushy kind of grass looking thing I have planted and the little deer like to nip at it. I can never remember the name of it. I did have to spray a new little rose bush I just planted with deer repellent. They snipped the tops off the new growth. Those are the only 3 plants that I know of. They REALLY like the bird feeder though. 🙂
Actually I do! Animals I think comprehend a lot. Maybe not the language itself, but the tone and body language. They certainly perceive our emotions. I just had a funny mental picture of you reprimanding a deer is all LOL.
I didn’t know that; some reason I thought you were always country. But this is such a contrast with what my front door view looks like lol. It’s beautiful to see those horses
Yeah, growing up all the way through college, I was city all the way. Since then, it’s been a mix of both city and rural. For the last 1o years I have been a bumpkin all the way LOL.

That’s my father in law’s place there. He lets the guy on place over graze his horses there.

I mean to ask Sue. I know you feed the deer a lot.Do they ever eat things you don’t want them to eat?

It’s rather peaceful. I mostly grew up in the city, but have come to love the country.
