I like to use doing things for your boss because you have to and doing things for a spouse out of love and devotion as a comparison.

Amen. As I grow as a Christian I think I found myself not necessarily doing something new but the works I have been doing is now more refined in terms of the motivation of willingly doing it out of love for Him.
