Earlier I posted a little something about the Bet She’an as presented in the Bible. That was not the only Bet She’an. It was also a Roman City of some note.
Just some brief interesting notes on Roman cities. They all looked alike, and all followed the same plan. They were built for the pleasure and entertainment of Roman citizens, who frankly didn’t have much to do. To keep order and peace in the cities the Romans tried really hard to provide things for them to do. Bathhouses to hang out in, arenas to be taught about the gods in, coliseums for gladiator fights, temples to gods to worship in, and shops to shop in.
