1 Samuel 23:29
And David went up from thence, and dwelt in strong holds at Engedi.
This was our trip to see the caves where David and his men hid from King Saul for some number of years. The hills here are all limestone rock, which has hundreds of caves running through it, and easily provided a way for David and his band of men to hide from King Sauls 3000 men searching. One of these caves was also where David cut the hem off of King Saul’s garment as he was in the cave relieving himself. Read this story in 1 Samuel 24
Here also was the spring where both David and his men, as well as Saul and his probably would have gotten their water. On this day, the spring and waterfall was being quite well used by a really noisy group of Jewish schoolgirls on an outing. Too funny, when they got in the falls to play, they just walked right in, just as they were!
