No..no. There’s no Biblical significance to the title. Literally, our story of Zacchaeus is taking a short hiatus. So, every body will have to wait a couple of weeks to see how this all ends up.
The next couple of weeks will be really, really busy so all I am going to post is the smaller stuff, like thoughts, memes, and some reblogs. Of course for 10 days I will posting lots and lots of picture(more on that in a minute.)
As some of you may or may not remember in a little less than a week, we are heading of to Israel for 10 days! So, we have last minute preparations for that. (Note to robbers: the ones who really shoot good? They are staying home.)
The day after we get back from our trip, our son is getting married. Even though I thought as a man I was exempt from anything to do with that, apparently I can still fetch things. So, fetch I shall. I am also the official meat smoker for the rehearsal supper.
Anyway, the next week will be really busy, and then we will be really gone. I’ll have seriously cooler things to scribble about for 10 days than Zacchaeus. Although I probably will, as I likely will get to see the very road Jesus walked down when he encountered our wee little friend.

Thanks Pastor Randy. Technically he is my step son, but I’ve been with him since he was 10, so I count him as mine

Biology does not create the Dad-Son relationship. Love does, so he is yours.

Travel mercies, my friend. When we were there, we weren’t able to go to Jericho because of the uprising in 2000, just drive by in the tour bus a mile or so our of town. That would be super kewl to walk down the same path that Yeshua did when He saw Zaccheus. We were convinced that we walked on the same steps He did as He entered the City through the Eastern Gate that is now sealed up.Oh, now I’m getting jealous. I left my heart in Jerusalem. Can’t wait until I go back.

Well, and I am not 100 percent sure we actually go into the city on this trip. Things seem to change rapidly these days. I hope so though!

Wally, I’m praying that you and your wife have a very safe, enjoyable trip!!! Looking forward to your photos and commentary. I’m not into relics but I’d appreciate it if you could grab a small chunk of the Western Wall that I could mount on my bookshelf. Thanks! 🙂

My son actually grabbed a chunk of the Roman Coliseum for me when we visited him when he was stationed at Aviano. Yeah, I’m sure they have cameras scanning all the time looking for “souvenir hunters.”

I went to Aviano once. Was vacationing on the Adriatic, and ran short of money. Went to the BX there to cash a check.

Our son was stationed at Aviano for a couple of years but never made the 60 mile trip to Venice (or anywhere else) until we visited. “Got my DVDs and video games. Got my cold beer from the BX. I’m good.”
