Hey Wally, what is Palmyra?
February 21, 2017 at 05:00
Glad you asked, Lee
It’s a tiny nothing of an unincorporated community in Southeast Arkansas. It is a church, a cemetery, some chicken houses, and a few regular houses.
Officially I am in Star City, Ar, which is about 7 miles away. But we all claim Palmyra as home.
It is actually named from the real Syrian city of Palmyra, which from what I understand is a translation from the name of Tadmor, which is mentioned twice in conjunction with King Solomon.2 Chronicles 8:4 and 1 Kings 9:17.
That’s what we are!

Hey, that’s really good Wally!
That’s the kind of place that a person loves. You just can’t beat good ole country folk.
And good mornin to you.

You too Lee. That is rather funny, actually, since I was raised a city boy. I am the token “yankee” around these parts. It’s been good for some humor. My wife can drive a tractor…I can’t.

Well, I’m sure glad that I get to visit with you. And I’ll guess that the people there in your town love you Wally. You give them variety from the routine.

Wally, we share another thing in common because Razorback alum Lance Alworth’s poster was on my bedroom wall from the ages of 13 to 16. He was replaced by a poster of Raquel Welch. I attribute the switch to male hormones. I was definitely a poster child for Matthew 5:27-30. My parents let it go with the rationalization that I was just “going through another phase.”

Ha…how cool! And…I remember the other poster too LOL. Good reference there, Tom
