Eternal separation from God and punishment in Hell and then the Lake of Fire. It’s so much better to get what we don’t deserve.

Indeed! Because in stark counterpoint to judgment, God offers mercy..which is in fact the last thing we deserve!

Lord have mercy on me. Please don’t give me what I deserve.

Amen Sue, Amen. Understanding it is the first step. Glad you have, though. I think hanging out with you forever might be pretty cool.

Hopefully we’ll meet someday before that. 🙂 I’m definitely looking forward to eternity with all my good friends.

I have actually met two of my blogging friends, over the past summer. Went to church with them, where one was the pastor.

I am certain people don’t really want what they deserve Wally, I know I don’t
February 1, 2017 at 13:17
Exactly. The problem is for the most part, we think we deserve good. Until we get beyond the thinking it’s our standard that matters, we will never get it.
February 1, 2017 at 13:28
True. Our standard always falls much too short.
By the way, I a driving through AR at the moment, on the way to a funeral in Hot Springs
February 1, 2017 at 13:39
Well first, sorry about the death. Did you come through Ruston and El Dorado?
No, we came up on the West side, through Hope to I-30
February 1, 2017 at 13:44
Ah…ok. Not really too many good ways to make the trip. I was just in El Dorado is why I asked. Back home now, though, because technically today is my day off.
That’s a pretty good haul, probably 5 hours?
February 1, 2017 at 13:49
Yeah, it’s a good haul for sure and we are going round trip today.
A good friend of the family and church members passed so, it’s the least I could do, about 20 of us headed up.
Go9d news is, we know our friend 8s in a better place so this isn’t good bye but, see you later.
February 1, 2017 at 13:51
Amen! And very awesome a good group have gone up to provide support…now, that’s church at it’s best for sure.
February 1, 2017 at 14:09
We aren’t perfect by any means but we really do support each other as much as we can

Not going to lie, I am glad that God hasn’t given me what I deserve. He has punished me here and there, but nothing compared to what could be.
February 1, 2017 at 13:33
Well yep, I’m with you Marie. Just a small thought if you don’t mind. Once you are forgiven by the atoning work of Jesus, you are not punished again.
God may chastise and correct to get us back in line, but it’s not for punishment. In fact the correction is one way we know we are His in the first place.
“If you are not disciplined–and everyone undergoes discipline–then you are not legitimate, not true sons and daughters at all.”
Thanks so much for coming by.

Awwww HECK NAW! Please do me a favor and never bring this subject up again. I, like Paul, think I am the chief of sinners.
February 1, 2017 at 13:54
Well I would argue and say it’s me that is, but then we would both be sinning and proving the point.
February 1, 2017 at 15:05
Wow, Wally, this is so true.
So many people glibly say, “Why can’t I have what I deserve?” Or even”What about me, don’t I deserve better?”
A GREAT reminder that we DON”T get what we deserve! (At least those counted as part of HIS kingdom!)
God’s Blessings, friend, and thank you for your reminders!
