Amen! I like that.
Someone once told me, “I can never be sure if I’m saved.”
Well than, GET SURE!

I agree 100 percent with that sentiment, IB. I don’t care what some say…God has told us otherwise. I figure He sort of know being as He wrote the Book!

When I look at myself, I see a poor, miserable sinner who deserves no hope of salvation. But when I look to the Word of God, I discover that I have been made righteous by the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. My salvation is 100% sure because of Christ’s guarantee, so I need to stop measuring myself so often. J.

Exactly! That was absolutely the point my friend. We have no reason to be arrogant, as we are totally not worthy nor deserving. Thanks for adding that.

Amen. Speaking some truth.

Yes, brother Wally. Those who are unsure of their salvation are trusting in their own untrustworthy merit. Those who are trusting in Christ alone and His perfect, imputed righteousness with no plea of their own…, well, that means curling up in my Lord and Savior’s strong arms.

Exactly, Tom. I know you would get that one, with no questions. Isn’t it the greatest burden easer in the world? We don’t have to do ANYTHING…that’s seriously cool.

Wally, I struggled with the Gospel for a long time before the Lord took the blinders off and the light went on. Then I was like….YOU’VE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME! I WAS RESISTING THIS?!?!?!

That’s a really great description, Tom. You know, I was a pretty avid non believer for many, many years. And when it happened, it happened really fast and all I could think of was what the heck had I been thinking for 45 years.

Could have used that one in my previous series. 🙂

Yes, it would have fit. Then again, maybe that series made the thought get thought. Ever think about that?

No, but that would be awesome if true.

Well, Don, one never knows where their words end up. I mean, we say something and the words travel around through different minds and hearts, and we may never know where their final destination really is.
Planting seed, ya know.

That’s good, and we need to be reminded of that daily!
January 7, 2017 at 07:08
Well, had been told just a day or so before about how arrogant I was for thinking I was heaven bound.
January 7, 2017 at 18:36
Amen, I agree, true assurance and humility goes together, since we understand the basis of assurance is based upon grace and not us!
January 7, 2017 at 18:37
Exactly! To claim Christians are arrogant for knowing they are heaven bound means a person doesn’t understand the Gospel in the first place.
