Ah yes, mike. The masterpiece of logic, Romans that is. God’s indictment of criminals, Jews with law, Gentiles apart from law. None can escape God’s word as laid out perfectly by Paul, guided by the benefit of a sanctified mind led of God.
Redemption, sanctification, atonement, propitiation, election, grace, Israel’s fall and rise, all wrapped up in ‘the righteousness of God.’
And for what’s it’s worth, Romans is proof positive that Saul of Tarsus could never have written such a beautiful epistle. Nor you, nor I.
You will be dead and gone, and Romans will still be blessing people throughout the world, and will equally withstand any petty gripes against it. God’s word stands and is forever settled.

“And for what’s it’s worth, Romans is proof positive that Saul of Tarsus could never have written such a beautiful epistle. Nor you, nor I.”
Fwiw, Romans is actually proof that Paul did write it, and not God. Paul himself claims to be the author in the very first section and God’s authorship is nowhere so claimed. Not be God Himself or Paul.

Against my better judgment here I go.
One. This post is not about Paul. Obviously I believe God did inspire Scripture. Your comment is not relevant and is simply argumentative
Two. You shock me daily with how little you learned in 34 years of “mininstry” Oops. Again you prove that you know nothing…nothing. So, again either you are slow in the head or are a rank liar about your years in the ministry. Or….you hate God and His people so much you will say anything to destroy Him and them. Which would then make you a liar with an agenda.
Anyway back to your lack in intelligence concerning Scripture. Paul DID claim all of his writings..all of the writings if Scripture in fact were “inspired by God.” Look it up, Mike, as you obviously missed that in your 34 years.
Not really the point here. Thanks again for helping my MAKE my point, you never let me down.
God says: You know who I am…you have no excuse
Mike says: Here is my first excuse!
Paul wrote Romans, not God
Jesus was a smelly Rabbi
God is mean
Christians are bullies
And on it goes. I would say more, but then you would have nothing to say. But, it’s always the same same same same
No excuse Mike. Doesn’t matter what you think about God. Because you aren’t god. You are Mike
No excuse Mike. All the bad Christians didn’t cause you to quit believing. Your own rebellion and selfishness has done that.
Do I need to go on?
No excuse, yet here you are with them.
But, God is good and patient. He will wait.

Well brother, I’m going to have to go with my better judgement and decline your insults. Have a wonderful day
December 11, 2016 at 09:01
Mike of the fly by comment
Seems you can hurl the critiques but when somebody pushes back we are the big bad Christian bully
Run back to your pathetic house of rebellion and write a post now
Tell us all more of your excuses
You have a wonderful day too

You’re really funny, Brother Wally. Keep loving like jesus.

A rabid atheist evangelist counselling Christian on how to be a better Christian
December 11, 2016 at 09:08
Not atheist, I keep telling you. Just not christian anymore. Enjoy the day
December 11, 2016 at 09:13
See why I don’t believe anymore? See the mean Christian? It’s their fault! It’s Gods fault!
The problem is not God
The problem is not Gods people
The problem is you Mike
God is patient
That should make you very happy

Someday brother wally, when you’ve been in Christ longer than 10 years, and seen outside of your own denominational walls a bit further, and mixed with people in your own faith that don’t agree with your particular tribe’s doctrinal stances, yet remain christian… when you’ve had enough time to actually learn what it means to love others as yourself and show the same grace that has been afforded you…
… Someday you will look back in horror of how you have treated others in the name of Christ, and realize that you are not a very nice or loving or graceful representation of what it means to be a Christian. Until then, I guess this is where you are. And it is I who are truly sorry for you and all you come in contact with, both on this oand other blogs, and in your personal, professional and religious life.
Wally… you are not a true Christian and you are barely an adult in your behaviour and conversations with people you disagree with or disagree with you. My suggestion is counseling and a discontinuation of your blog until such a time as you understand your true condition and begin to make amends. And really, have a wonderful day and a merry Christmas. I hope for your Recovery. -kia

Ark? Is that you? Counseling?
You suggest I discontinue my blog eh? Well of course you do. You don’t want to hear what gets said here. Again, easy. Anytime you tire of the words said here…..just don’t come by.
Meanwhile your pathetic excuses and flailings won’t shut me up.
Ba ha ha ha ha ha ha!!!!!
You come here calling me brother and flaunting your “credentials” as a Christian.
Just so every body understands.
Mike is NOT a christian, though he postures and counsels believers on their failings as Christians when he rejects everything about it
Rabid atheist evangelist
Have a good day Mike!
Good thing God is more patient and loving than me I suppose.

Does your pastor know how you treat people on your blog? Maybe he should
December 11, 2016 at 10:41
You want his number?

To expand on this a bit, so you clearly understand why this happens to you.
This is my home…my church somewhat.
All are welcome here, including you.
But, just like my home or my church? When you storm in the front door trying to drag my guests out the front door? I have no obligation to allow that. Christian love doesn’t mean I have to let that happen.
You are a wolf Mike. You come here for no reason other than to devour sheep. Love does not require me to stand by and watch.
I notice you have written no less than three posts in response to our conversation. No doubt in hopes that your more hateful friend will pop over for a visit. Since you lack the backbone to stay and talk about the things you start.
It’s really easier to just talk to your handlers anyway, as you get all of our best stuff from them.
Have a nice day Mike, and thanks for the mention.

Maybe you missed this? Let me quote myself:
‘None can escape God’s word as laid out perfectly by Paul, guided by the benefit of a sanctified mind led of God.’
There was nothing in the mind of Paul ALONE………….left to his own devices………which could have possibly known and EXPLAINED a) the righteousness of God, b) the setting aside of Israel and the regathering, c) the struggle of a believer’s nature’s, d) the logic of being dead to sin, e) the love of God, and who said this:
‘Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.’
Sound familiar? Who CHANGED the truth of God into a lie. It is a lie mike, to disagree that Romans was not inspired by God. And there is much more.
But I’m thinking you know this, but then again, the text at the top of this page is equally true.

Mike is rather proving the point of the post. His support is most appreciated.
December 11, 2016 at 08:00
Ha. True enough. I didn’t see your comment W, you didn’t need mine. lol
But excuses excuses excuses right?
December 11, 2016 at 08:27
Ha…I don’t mind the addition at all…you ought to know that by now my friend. The more the merrier…a threefold cord and all that.
December 10, 2016 at 13:24
Boy is that ever the truth! “There is no God” and yet His presence and creation is so obvious.
December 10, 2016 at 14:39
Pretty much yep.
December 10, 2016 at 18:38
Hi Sue….I got mail today
Made my day to be thought about. You blessed me.
December 10, 2016 at 18:46
That’s what it’s all about – blessing others. 🙂 Merry Christmas.

This post made me think about Romans 1 and how often people in apologetics assume the opposite
December 11, 2016 at 09:04
Really? How so….I am curious
December 11, 2016 at 11:02
Romans 1 argues that we are without excuse for rejecting God, describing us as even suppressing the truth. Sometimes I see some apologists start with the assumption that there’s good excuses for rejecting the truth. I’m not saying we shouldn’t be compassionate but at the same time we should be informed by Romans 1 in our apologetics procedures that those who say they have an excuse for not trusting in Christ really don’t have good reasons.
December 11, 2016 at 12:13
That sounds like a pretty hair brained approach to me honestly. That is the place I start in almost any conversation, just so folks understand where I come from and won’t have any doubt. I find what you said disturbing.
December 11, 2016 at 21:34
I have always thought that there is a big difference between reasons and excuses, I like to start there with apologetics.
December 11, 2016 at 21:49
Good starting point. Good to hear from you again good friend!
December 12, 2016 at 16:57
Thanks brother. I have been swamped and haven’t had much time for blogging
December 12, 2016 at 05:19
I’d be interested in hearing more on that thought James
I agree there is I difference between the two though.
How do you know when one ends and the other begins?
December 12, 2016 at 16:44
Excuses are common to kids and those who are lacking in knowledge, think, “I’m sorry officer I didn’t know what the speed limit was.”
Reasons are kind of like excuses that are made when one knows a simple excuse won’t work. No one can claim ignorance of God therefore reasons are developed to allow for willful disbelief.
Hope that makes sense.
December 12, 2016 at 17:36
Got it lol
Reasons are just excuses with some learning
December 12, 2016 at 17:59
In most cases, yes.
