That’s really a great point, Brandon. Those demons know their theology, and they know the end. Sadly, there is no hope for them. How great that there is hope for us. Sometimes, thought folks think great knowledge equals great salvation. Not so, thankfully!

Sigh…A good meme. For that reason I will forgive you for the Leonardo promo.

I am more confused than I ever was Wally. I was under the impression that all you needed was faith in Christ in order to gain entry into heaven. Is that not still the case?

Ok. Just checking. So does that mean that since Satan believes in Jesus, he’s going to heaven too? Is that what you meant to tell everyone in this post?

Thanks for your kind offer to help me sort out what I meant to say.
There is a vast difference in mental assent and intellectual belief in the facts of Jesus Christ versus a saving faith in Him.
Faith…as defined in the Bible, consists of much more than just mental nod to the facts concerning Jesus Christ.
The topic of the fall of Satan and his angels and why they won’t be redeemed? Not really worth the time to discuss, as you aren’t them so it doesn’t apply to you.
What does apply?
You, Ashley, have fallen short of the glory of God by failing to meet His standard of perfection. You have missed the Mark. Sin
You, Ashley, owe the penalty for that missing of the mark. The wages of sin is death. Eternal separation from God, Hell….however you want to say it.
Yet, while you Ashley, were yet a sinner, God provided a way to escape that penalty, through the atoning work of Jesus Christ.
The Devil and the angels are not your problem. You are your problem.
Faith? Repentance, agreeing with God concerning your missing His mark. Understanding you owe the payment for those failings. Understanding that God Himself became man to pay man’s penalty. On YOUR behalf. Accepting that gift of salvation, surrerndering to His will for your life.
There is your answer Ashley. I won’t change no matter how much you dislike it, disagree with it, or think it is stupid.
That IS the answer.

Well now we certainly have switched gears haven’t we Wally! When I asked you in earlier posts, you informed me that all you needed was faith in Jesus to go to heaven. As a matter of fact, you explicitly said that being good, wasn’t going to be of any use whatsoever in getting you into heaven. Only faith would get you there. Where’s this “standard of perfection” coming from? What’s that got to do with faith in Jesus? Are the two synonymous? Is that what you are saying?
You did not answer my question. If Satan believes in Jesus, why can’t he get into heaven? What’s the topic of his fall got to do with anything. You’ve told me, in very explicit terms because i have asked numerous times, that all that is required to get into heaven is faith in Jesus. Why can’t Satan be held to the same criteria? What difference does it make about what he said or did? You just posted that he believes in Jesus. According to you, that’s all you need. So why all the tap dancing and evasion?
I wonder if it troubles you at all to believe that 75% of the population of planet earth, who don’t believe in Jesus, are going to hell? Or has that thought ever crossed your mind?

I have been more than patient with you, and my patience is frankly exhausted. I have answered your questions, as have many others.
I have even very specifically explained to you the difference between “belief” and actual saving faith.
It seems you didn’t read that, or ignored it, and have simply chosen to add a whole lot more question.

Ah! So Satan only “believes” in Jesus. He doesn’t actually have faith in him – and that’s why he can’t go to heaven. Sorry about not recognizing the distinction Wally. My bad.
By the way, how do you know all of this? Did you ask Satan himself? Do you regularly converse with him? Or is this just supposition on your part?
