That’s something that the Mormons need to learn.

I was debating a Mormon not to long ago and I was forced to read one of their holy Books which by the way they have four, Doctrine & Covenants being the one I read. In that Book it teaches that you Wally can become a god like God the Father, how crazy is that. That’s what Mormons are teaching unsuspecting people, that’s what you call cyanide in your cup…like the Mormons like to say bottoms up.
November 26, 2016 at 13:53
In the other hand sometimes just helping people understand that….God is actually there is a really good starting point for a real dialogue
November 26, 2016 at 12:24
And it could also be stated that there are in fact many gods……….of which men make idols of themselves, denying the Creator the courtesy of existing, but yep, only one God.
While I’m here, it is hardly worth discussing God as Redeemer with a person who fails to admit there is a God at all with whom he has to do. Just sayin.
But indeed the heavens declare…………..that’s a sermon nobody can hide from eh W.
November 26, 2016 at 12:44
I think it’s worth discussing, if they will allow you to discuss-How will they ever hear the message? Plus, we never know, 1. what’s going on with them, and 2. what the Holy Spirit will do, Something you say may make them turn 180 degrees-which is how belief happens/the Holy Spirit works oftentimes. It’s never anything we can do, to reiterate, we are NOT God 🙂
November 26, 2016 at 12:57
Well, there is quite a difference between God as Creator, and God as Redeemer.
It hardly needs explained that there is a God above all. The conscience is enough.
As far as redemption, that’s an entirely different country.
November 26, 2016 at 13:38
Many refuse to believe, regardless of conscience.
Yup, exactly. Understanding that creation was….created? That’s a beginning for sure.

Amen brother, Word. Conversation isn’t a waste of time.
November 26, 2016 at 13:16
Hey GC, thanks for popping in. What a nice perspective you bring.
Of course, I agree with you. And since I read you regularly, I think you will agree with me on this. Some folks simply aren’t looking to have conversation, but to overwhelm, out yell, and basically silence dissenting thoughts.
Not you…but you know what I mean.
Thanks for that.
November 26, 2016 at 13:18
That’s true but even then others will likely read your conversation now or in the future and it could influence the way they see the world.
No problem by the way. I try to welcome all voices, including religious ones. You do me the favor by dropping by.
November 26, 2016 at 13:27
And again, you have a great point. Stop that by the way LOL. But, eventually who do they read? The one who screams loudest? Cusses the most? Puts things in upper case letters.
There is also the very real possibility that some readers will be driven away, by the contention, thus accomplishing what the screamers want to.
It’s actually a real balance huh?
November 26, 2016 at 13:29
I always read both and the one who has the most convincing argument is the one most likely to sway my opinion. I thrive on challenging dialogue.
November 26, 2016 at 13:36
Well, GC, you are likely smarter than the average bear. Some are not, and are only swayed by collective thought, anger, and emotion. The most compelling argument in the world can hardly stand against enough volume.
That won’t stop me from trying! Lol
November 26, 2016 at 12:47
Denying the Creator the courtesy of existing…classic.
Hmmm…hardly worth discussing. Not to me it’s not, as I would quickly say it is a total waste of time. How good for the haters that it’s not up to me to decide that, but to our God who is patient and longsuffering towards us!
And, boy do we try t hide…behind more things than I can count. But, we can live in a dark room and successfully hide from the light.
Yep, we have been playing ‘hide and seek’ since way back when.
Wise men still seek Him, and God does not hide. On the other hand…..
November 26, 2016 at 12:31
Yes, only one God, God above who created the heavens and earth and everything in it. Sadly many have made self, god.
Amen Sue, Amen!
So I have to stop making my family bow to me?
Shucks. I was really enjoying the whole God thing. 😊
November 26, 2016 at 13:39
You can do whatever you want LOL, with your own crew.
November 26, 2016 at 13:40
They better invest in some knee pads then. *evil atheist laugh from the depths of hell echo forth*
November 26, 2016 at 14:58
Just and FYI…and sort of what I mean my friend
One of your fearless comrades has popped in…launched a comment bomb…which I actually agreed with!
Yet..no conversation ensues. But, I did get some fine links..sort of. No pingback or anything.
Is that an actual effort at conversation? Or just an attempt to send folks my way to shout me down?
Makes me wonder ya know?
November 26, 2016 at 15:50
Where abouts can I find this?
November 26, 2016 at 15:58
Hmm..maybe I spoke too soon. I seem to have lost my own comment.
This might be a big fat nevermind as I bet my buddy never saw it. The post was just random, then LOL. Mike..KIA
But if I somehow forgot to send my own comment, then this one doesn’t apply.
Sigh..me and technology
November 26, 2016 at 13:12
You realize that Muslims use almost the same apologetics arguments to ‘demonstrate’ the glory of Allah
November 26, 2016 at 13:15
Mike so what-
And many thieves pretend to be law abiding citizens.
The so what is that if your ‘evidence’ supports contradictory God views and religions, it isn’t a unique proof for your particular God.
November 26, 2016 at 16:02
I’ll give you that, Mike. I think simply a person even understanding there is a transcendent being is a pretty good place to start a discussion, though.
November 26, 2016 at 16:41
Understanding is best based on knowledge, knowledge on actual evidence, not inference and interpretation.
November 26, 2016 at 17:07
So…there’s no God?
November 26, 2016 at 17:09
There might be… I’m still hopeful. Although I dont think we would ever be able to know it from evidence.
November 26, 2016 at 17:25
Gotcha. So, any evidence that there is not a God? Just curious. Seriously, when you say there might be, you basically have said there is not. So…some evidence there is not?
Hate to say it but sounds like a bunch of inference and interpretation to me. And that’s ok, really.
But, an outright denial that there is no evidence for a transcendent being is absurd. Of course there is some evidence, or you would not say “might be.” I think what you mean to say is….that there is no evidence you consider credible.
And, that’s ok too. That is how decisions work We each look at the evidence that is available, and make decisions. But a blanket statement that there is no evidence is quite simply not true.
It takes…inference….and interpretation. No matter where one ends up.
November 26, 2016 at 17:41
You don’t really understand this ‘burden of proof’ thing, do you Wally? Have a great night brother wally
November 26, 2016 at 17:49
Look, now I am really, really confused. That there was one of them..you know.ad hominem things you are so concerned about.
Meaning, the level of my personal stupidity has nothing to do with my argument.
Now, I am trying to have a serious, open conversation like to grown men. Don’t run off. Stay and talk about this.
Of fine. Burden of proof.
You have stated outright, that the God I believe in does not exist.
Fine. Prove it.
Or, address my statement about evidence. You have declared there is NO evidence for a transcendent being. Sadly, that statement is not true, Mike.
There is evidence, and evidence that qualifies as evidence by the definition of the word.
So…let’s talk. I talk to stupid people every day, surely you can lower your standards to talk to one yourself.
See? Not a single insult hurled toward you…just an honest, open invitation for you to hand around and support your position…with something besides the fact that I have limited understanding.
I am stupid. That proves nothing, except that I am stupid.
So, how’s about we get back to that whole transcendent being discussion. Heck I’ll even post a post that says…”Wally is Stupid” if it makes you feel better
November 26, 2016 at 20:20
I notice you don’t have time to stay here and talk like grown ups but have plenty of time to go to sites I link to so that you can pretend you are looking to dialogue
It’s pretty crummy of you to do that. That blogger you are about to turn on..just as you always do….has never done anything to you
November 26, 2016 at 20:21
You seem amazingly insecure.
November 26, 2016 at 20:26
I’m not the one cruising the net looking for people to harass who have done nothing to you
November 26, 2016 at 20:28
These are my friends Mike
This is not the only time you have gone after somebody for the crime of simply being my friend
November 26, 2016 at 20:29
If you have an issue with me…keep it with me
November 26, 2016 at 20:34
I’ve attacked no one wally. And what i do or say to someone else is none of your business. You really are insecure
November 26, 2016 at 20:44
Actually you are full of it
My friends are my business
The whole blog world knows the sign that Mike is about to turn is when he says “honest question ”
You are a bully. A hit and run bully. As soon as get called in it you say “have a nice day” and scamper off like the scared puppy you are
Don’t like that?
Go write a post about Wally the jerk lol
Just leave people who have done nothing to you alone
November 26, 2016 at 21:09
I’m so glad you called him out for what he is, Wally. Praise God ands stand strong in Him.
November 26, 2016 at 16:43
Unfortunately for you, actual evidence for the existence of the god of the Bible is fairly lacking. All you have is the same inference and interpretation founded in circular logic that Muslims have for allah.
November 26, 2016 at 17:06
November 27, 2016 at 19:21
Word brother Wally!
November 27, 2016 at 20:22
Thanks brother Jim. I fear I got in trouble though LOL.
November 29, 2016 at 16:28
Amen! Very good word.
