Well, here it is folks, my one and only political post. Honestly, being the under educated, backwoods, cave dwelling fundie that I am, I mostly for years now have given barely two happy hoots about politics for the most part. I try to act as a good citizen in my country, and yes I participate in our political process. I even voted in this year’s presidential election: Go Darrel Castle!
Apparently people are pretty torqued about the results of this election, as from what I understand there are protests in the streets, and a number of famous folks have said they plan to leave the country. To group one: morons. To group two: buh bye and may I help you pack?
I only have one point to make here, so I shall make it and go back to my bunker. I suspect I am about to irritate a lot of people, but so what? You can’t get me in my bunker anyway.
Many accusations are being hurled at Donald Trump supporters: racist, Islamophopic, homophobic, woman phobic..and on it goes. Apparently Donald Trump supporters hate everybody except rich white guys. Not my problem.
I want to address the issue of the racist label just really quickly and then I shall retire to the bunker and wait it out. This is, from the best of my knowledge, a true story. The facts are actually facts as they exist. If I have it wrong, I apologize in advance
This story took place right in our peaceful little town, in our peaceful little high school just yesterday. It seems a group of white kids formed a “Trump line”, put a Donald Trump mask on a stick to lead the procession, and went down the hall way waving in in the faces of some black kids, chanting: “Trump, Trump, Trump!” To be clear, this was not ALL white kids, or even most, or even a significant number. Just a few, acting like jerks.
For real? How stupid are you really? How stupid are the parents who created an environment where this could even take place among kids not even old enough to actually vote?
Of course, the obvious happened: fights in the hallway and even some disturbance outside with black kids keying cars, and making threats about what was going to happen. Now, we have increased security, police, and metal detectors for school today. In our little town.
Look, it’s not right to fight in the halls, key cars, or threaten to bring guns and knives to school. You are morons, too. As they say, two wrongs don’t make a right.
On the other hand…..think. What message got sent as white kids waved that mask in the black kids faces, shouting “Trump, Trump, Trump!?” Yeah, you got it: Trump’s gonna put you people back in your place.
How would we react? Seriously, would any of us just sit back and “let the process work,” if that was said to us? Well, no, we are Americans. We would throw tea in the harbor and have a revolution.
My point? It’s real simple and easy. If you don’t want to face accusations of being a racist bigot, don’t act like one.

There’s a lot of stupidity going around, but some things never change. Kids do dumb things; I would come down hard on those kids because pranks of that nature are inexcusable.
I take offense at being called uneducated by the media. I graduated as salutatorian in high school, and have a B.S. Degree from Cal Poly, with honors. As I told my kids, just because we disagree with someone, does not mean we start gloating or name-calling. Unfortunately, people have forgotten common courtesy…
I reminded myself on Tuesday that no matter who was elected, God would take care of me. “No power of hell, no scheme of man can ever pluck me from His hand.”
God be with you, Wally!

Thank you, Elihu for that. Yes the uneducated thing is bothersome to me as well, as I bet I am as educated, maybe more so, than many calling me that.
What really bothers me on this is the fact that we are a “Christian” community. Almost all around these parts would identify themselves that way…yet this is what we do. Not such a great testimony to our Lord.
Love that last line…it’s in one of my favorite songs!
Thanks and be blessed my friend.

Unfortunately even Christians aren’t perfect. That’s why we all need a Savior. I’m concerned too by what kind of example is being set by our so called role models. Kids will imitate behavior deemed as acceptable. We really need to put God back into our homes, communities and country.

No…we are far from perfect, and that is a simply fact. And lack of perfection is not the problem. The problem is as you said. If we refuse to look in the mirror of God’s Word and react accordingly, then we do have a problem. We try to excuse a lot by claiming we aren’t perfect, but yet sometimes we never actually strive to improve it. We just hand waive it away I think sometimes.
Thanks Kathy!

knock, knock…that’s me tapping on your bunker door to offer my own 2 cents here Wally….
I watched some of the news last night with the live coverage of the protests. The news reporters tried interviewing some of the protesters, who were predominately young and yes moronic, as their rants were laced with vulgarity and profanity—as if that is what brings change…they were asked if they voted, “nah man” or it was a “yeah” from others…
They showed young folks burning flags, and ran the stories of those colleges who students marched through the hallways shouting “f_ _ _ Trump” as professors explained that they has exempted students from exams or class due to their being so distraught….as if that’s a reason to exempt a test, for not liking an election…
I had to think for a minute where I was and what was I watching.
UCLA students, tuition over 60 grand a year, marching through the hallways shouting vulgarities and profanity—an older version of a pure temper tantrum. Others shouting “not my president”…
I remember protests over Vietnam—as in a war that lasted on and on and took countless lives…but protests over the democratic process that allows us to vote then live with the results because that’s what we do…
then we have teenagers, Arkansas in your case, who didn’t vote, but decided to use the moment to be hate filled while showcasing their ignorance as in they needed to obviously be in class as they have yet to learn anything…yes, my friend we have troubles…it’s time to shout from the rooftops about what really matters in life—perhaps that school should take that group of kids and have them spend a little time working in a soup kitchen or tending to those in a nursing home or visiting those children in the hospital battling cancer and just see if there is really time in this life to waste by being hateful….
Ok, sorry to bother you, I’ll let you get back to the bunker 😉

LOL, teh stoopid just seems to be our one renewable resource, Wally. Seriously, that is just an endless well for the foolish to drink from. Kids make me sad because their behavior is evidence of our own lack of leadership.
Racism, the real deal, is actually blasphemy. God said we were made in His image and when we contradict Him we are engaging in blasphemy. Kind of sad how Christians, fundies, often get falsely labeled racist, because outside the context of faith, there is no moral framework to speak out against racism. If we are just bits of random biological goo with no purpose, than how we treat one another becomes irrelevant. You’re just a clump of cells and there’s no moral reason to perceive anyone as human. The end of slavery, the Civil Rights movement, these were things born of churches and faith.
Why do we love one another? Because people were made in the image of God and because Christ told us to love one another.

What I would like to know is just what have these riots accomplished? Has anything changed politically or otherwise because of their moronic, hate filled actions? All they have done is destroyed and now all the destruction has to be repaired which will in the end cost them through taxes, etc. I may be off point but I really would like to know if anything positive comes from all this rioting and destruction. It only shows low class and ignorance.

Hi Wally, I enjoyed your post and everyone’s comments. Certainly, two wrongs do not make a right and it never will. We should only have one role model-Jesus Christ. Sadly, the evil one has misled many and has furnished plenty of imperfect and ungodly role models, to include many from main stream entertainers. I pray the youth of the world to find and see the priceless value of having Jesus as their One role model to follow. Good day!

Trump wound up the country before the election with the aggressive bully tactics and rubbish he spouted about how he would kick people out and build walls, have Clinton arrested and not accept election defeat because it was rigged etc.
He played the sort of politics that motivates anger and hate, it was obvious at the rally’s he held where supporters would physically attack individuals as a mob.
Christians are the same as the rest of us, politics trumps (excuse the pun) the decency in some people because they lack control in themselves and this is passed onto the kids.

2 quick points from one uneducated person to another.
1- Quite the irony that a millionaire one most of the vote of working people. I never understood why in the world people hate big fat CEO´s, if they didn´t exist, my lame salary that my idiot boss gives me, would be….no salary at all. So my I need my idiot boss( bosses in my case) to keep my afloat. And a titan like Trump, he does provide a bunch of jobs. Even if it´s a crappy job in construction which I have done, it is still a job and a very necessary one.
2- Yep, those white kids are truly dumb. But my guess is that is a minority, so that is the good news.

I like your attitude in point #1. The thing that is often overlooked is that both candidates are millionaires. Most of the people pulling the strings behind the Democratic party are millionaires/billionaires. George Soros. So many false narratives, so many lemmings latching on. The father of lies has had a field day. I think the best thing we Christians can do is get on our knees and ask the Lord to silence deceptions on all sides, render mute any attempts to mislead. Like in that game Taboo where you get buzzed if you use a forbidden word. Start buzzing political liars Lord.

If you talk about lies…look at the media, they where completely in bed with Hilarry,( except Fox news). And people either saw through it or just heard the man what he said and completely disregarded the very left slanted opinions of the media. Probably a combination of both.
As a Christian, I can only pray that what he said he was going to do he does, most of the things anyways you can´t do perfect 100% in trying to pass all the bills you would like in politics. But I do pray the policies he described he implements them and pray that the implementation of them are good for the country. If it´s good for the U.S it usually translates that is good for the entire world at large, not perfect but certainly much better than having Russia, Iran running the show.

First of all, Jesus is on the throne and He’s my King.
President Elect Trump is anything but a racist. The media did all they could at the behest of the DNC, or more rightly, HRC to smear him.
Mitt Romney was about as pure in heart as white snow. Remember the trash they dug up on him? Ridiculous stuff….but he was just nice and didn’t fight back. It took a loud mouth boisterous man like Donald Trump to fight against the VERY biased media. The odds were stacked against him as even the Republican establishment was trying to take him down. He reached into the hearts of the workers of the country who are fed up. I’m passionate as I’ve seen it up close and personal with my daughter and son-in-law. He was laid off after 15 years. At his age and with a newborn baby on the way, it was not an easy time. They are now struggling to make ends meet, but praise God he finally got another job. Sadly, he has to start at the bottom of the barrel, and has very little vacation time. He had been enjoying three weeks vacation a year, which is great for a working dad. They are struggling to afford everything, including healthcare. Remember Obama said you can keep your doctor? Not them their whole health insurance changed, and begin costing much more money, as well as many changes. It’s these hard-working kids that I am so upset for. In these two are anything that racist as well, too. It’s just easy to scream racism. You would think when we elected our first black president twice, that racism was dead in our country. Why is it that we’ve had more race riots these past four years than ever in most of our lifetimes…..Rant over!!!

But really I actually wanted us to understand that sometimes people do act like racists and we ought to acknowledge that sometimes more than we do
And to be honest our to be pres does have quite a colorful history of some pretty racist comments
Just food for thought
