It becomes difficult, even entrapping, to begin in faith only to try and perfect it with works. Oh foolish Christians, who hath bewitched you?

We already are special in His eyes that He would send His son to die for us while we were yet sinners. However, it is a father’s delight especially when his children are obedient.

Great verse Wally but there’s two meaning for the word favor as used in scripture. The meaning that you put for the word favor is a human perspective which scripture is displaying in Romans. What that means is that God doesn’t favor a person because of their looks, status in life, wealth, being tall and etc. God does favor but in the sense of obedience. That favor means that those who obey the Lord, God blesses in the form of spiritual matters, material (provision) and even makes your enemies be at peace with you. There are times when God favors one Christian over another but that’s because one is walking closer to Him while the other is not.
The LORD favors those who fear Him, Those who wait for His lovingkindness.
Anyways just wanted to give the other definition in case someone came across a verse like Psalms 147 and would get confused. 🙂

I know if KIA sees it he will have a ball, trying to say that the Bible contradicts itself, which it does not. Another word would be tempted, especially in Matthew where Jesus was tempted by the Devil.
In one definition temptation means a desire to sin which it is enhanced because of the temptation.
The other definition of the word tempted would be in a form of testing. One is trying to tempt you do do something bad but it doesn’t mean that you desire that specific temptation. For an example: I hate spinach and someone put poison in it and is trying to tempt me to eat it. Well, guess what, it ain’t going to work because I hate it and don’t desire it at all. I think when Satan was tempting Jesus to sin, it was like trying to give Him something He detested.
Anyways I’m talking too much…I’ll stop.

Once I began writing down every reference I could find as would read the Bible saying this very thing, and was surprised to find that there are SO MANY! I think is trying to make a point.

Yes, I agree! Often a point is being made and He won’t just hand it to us, but puts it here and there and makes us find it! That’s actually a good plan, but of course all of His plans are good eh? Thanks Dawn!
