That’s me up there
Hitting the wall
3 weeks straight at work 7 days a week 10 hours a day, with likely 3 more weeks to go
Blogs to read, comments to make
Sunday evening Sunday school to teach
Need to study and pray
A family to actually see
Dipped the bucket in the well of time, and it finally came up dry
Feel free to visit for a week or so, but don’t expect anything new
I will see you all at your places, though

I know what it’s like Wally, sometimes the blog has to get put on the back burner.
Enjoy your time away, we will be here when you get back.

Yep, it does sometimes, and this is that time. It was becoming a chore I didn’t like anymore.

You had BETTER take a break (picture an index finger lovingly wagging in your face from a full state away) because you are valued, needed, and oh yeah, only human BTW!! And Heather needs you healthy. Prioritize and strategize when you do start writing again…thoughts: post only once a week and schedule ahead up to three months. Then (and only then) fill in other days within that three months if you have the time.

I used to write everything ahead. I’d take a good solid half a day on a day off, and just binge write a week or two and schedule them ahead, just like you said. It’s almost impossible to write daily; it seems like the getting ready to write takes longer than the writing, so if I do it every day I do the same thing over day after day.
Thanks, Dawn!

rest well—a bit of a diversion, new perspectives, one less demand…clear the air, while clearing the head…
prayers for a soothed spirit…

I hear you, Wally. Yes, I enjoy the blog experience – posting messages and reading the posts of others. I view it as a ministry as I’m sure you do as well. But as you mention, the blogging can easily become a burden. We have to find the right balance in all things, especially like in your case when the job demands get heavy. Enjoy your break and Lord bless.

It is a ministry, Tom. And when a person begins to actually not like their ministry much anymore, it might be time to take a look at things. I did, and this is right. Thanks my friend.

I know how you feel Wally. I’m glad you are taking care of yourself. That whole Sabbath thing God was talking about was not just a nice idea, God knows we really need it. =)

lol…my first thought was, “I can be really mean by writing, “Bout time you let someone else get a word in edge wise.”‘ But, that would be mean, so I won’t. Get yourself some rest, my friend.

Ha…that was funny. You would not be the first person to say that, trust me.
I will be around, reading and talking…just not writing for a bit. The work load at work won’t let up for weeks I am sure, as we are a 7 day a week operation, and for now anyway, it’s my operation. If it becomes my operation permanently, then I can get somebody to replace me and back me up. If I don’t get it permanently, then frankly it ceases being my problem LOL. Either way, relief is eventually on the horizon.

But, as you have said often, hard work is good for the fellow who does it. Nothing like a good challenge to build one up and help them understand just where their strength comes from. God truly does work all things to the good of those who love Him.

I know exactly what you mean with this Wally. Sometimes you just need to take care of business outside of blogging. There is so much good stuff here to read and comment on that I feel bad when I don’t have the time to properly do so. To write intelligent blog posts on top of everything else just seems impossible at times.
