Revival. Means different things to different denoms. What’s your definition?

Thanks for dropping in
Really this wasn’t about the definition of it or what it means to different denominations
It simply teaches,to believers, that if we have any expectation of seeing one that we have to make ourselves right first

Incidentally, mine has always been revival only happens in the hearts of believers

Amen, Brother Wally!!! Pastor has been preaching verse by verse from Revelations for awhile. He requested that we pray for revival in our church and community, etc.

I am glad to hear that Don. It is possible but the starting place has to be us

What we should all be saying brother. True revival is going to be a grass roots effort.

Yessir. We can’t expect the world around us to change if we aren’t willing to change ourselves.

Revival has a much broader meaning to me.
Every time a brother repents and receives forgiveness, there is revival.
Every time the Christian hears the Gospel and takes comfort in its promises, there is revival.
Every time we receive the Body and Blood of our Lord and rejoice in the forgiveness it brings, there is revival.
By the power of the Spirit, revival comes to us, not the others way around.
If your heart longs for revival, starting with you…it already has started! So rejoice, and give thanks to God for answering your prayer

That’s a really, really good point by the way

Historically, revival grows in times of darkness. In the scripture we often see one person’s obedient zeal for God acting as the spark for real change.
I long to see more zeal for the Lord, but the pessimistic side of me believes it will not come until there is widespread misery.
we cannot control the world, but we can control the allegiance of our hearts. “Revive us again”

Exactly! What good is it to pray for revival if we are not revived ourselves? That’s just us passing the buck, really

A big Amen! May it begin from the inside–> Out!
