OK… you have me wondering. Is the point that proper pronunciation is not enough? That one must believe the message of God’s Word? Or is it that we no longer know how some of these names were pronounced? J.

LOL, I suppose it depends if your mood is serious of funny at the moment!
In my case, I was teaching this morning on Amos and King Jereboam, King Uzziah, and assorted other prophets,so my odds of getting it all right were slim.

Remember the craze of naming babies after biblical names. Bob thought we should have triplets and name them First, Second, and Third John…..(we had all girls.)

I had a bible software program once that had a sound thing that would pronounce words from the Bible…and so I never messed up. Yeah, it did sort of creep people out; I had to tell the secret finally!

Ok friends and neighbors, here’s the thing.
I’m reminded of Captain Jack Sparra ( 😉 when he says ‘the word is EEgree…,.jis,’ poking fun at the lazy. His beef was knowing people don’t care how words are pronounced. My take is simpler.
If we make an attempt to get it right, and mess up, who cares? But c’mon, the word is not Je..rooz…alem. I’m pretty sure there is an ‘s’ in there. Still, the greater thing is believing the text, certainly more than the letter of the law kinda thing. God knows all are not grammarians, and He probably laughs at what we think is ultimately important.
Then there is Furr….milyer………. Once again, watch the face of the good Captain as he might say: ‘the word is FAmiliar……’ Then again, does it really matter if we can’t pronounce Mahalshazabagabig?
But yep, one does not pronounce all correctly. Too funny W.

“Still, the greater thing is believing the text, certainly more than the letter of the law kinda thing.”
I just wanted to highlight that in case somebody didn’t take the time to read it.
Well said, the letter of the law never did a thing for us, except show us our problem.
Nicely done there friend, thanks.
