Boy is that ever the truth! And America is suffering because of it, too.

It is, and we are. On the other hand, maybe we started it. I often say we don’t have much call to complain that children can’t pray in school if we don’t pray with them a home. I remember my own mother used to really gripe about that. But, yet we never once said a prayer in our home. Just a few random thoughts there. Thanks just like always for your support, Sue. I am really glad you wandered my way.

I mean really—as a former high school teacher I’m here to tell you–walking down the halls one would have to have a pretty strong tolerance for vile and foul….

I suppose you have seen it all huh Julie?
August 27, 2016 at 16:53
Oh I could produce a mini series…that could be rated anything from G to X depending on the day, the kid, the incident…
August 27, 2016 at 16:54
But apparently it’s believers who are nuts. Just check out the thread and my friend Mike for proof.
August 27, 2016 at 17:00
yes indeed, I have—when I was in the classroom and I would have to listen to outrageous comments, attacks and accusations regarding Christianity, the Pledge, prayer before games, prayer groups, FCA… from both student and faculty alike—I often wondered where my first amendment rights were hiding….
August 27, 2016 at 17:05
It’s funny Julie. I so totally support government not being in religion, and vice versa. It’s one of the basic tenets of our work in my church in fact. I am the biggest fan of the establishment clause in the world. But that clause works both ways.
August 27, 2016 at 17:11
That’s the frustrating thing Wally– as a Christian I have felt, I do feel, abandoned by my own right to that amendment
August 27, 2016 at 17:16
That is the issue for sure Julie, any expression of faith outside the home and church house is considered wrong. It’s as if employees of the state must stop being Christian. The amendment protects that as well
August 27, 2016 at 17:19
Last time I checked it did indeed — so why must the hostility continue and be of such a vehement level?!
August 27, 2016 at 17:20
Why? Beats me my friend. But, I am tired of taking it lying down. LOL, you wrote on this a bit back it you recall. It’s your fault!
August 27, 2016 at 17:25
And it’s not just in schools. Apparently Christian blogging is and infringement in the public arena and must be stopped
August 27, 2016 at 17:36
I’ve picked up on that

August 27, 2016 at 15:59
As long as there are tests in schools there will be prayer
August 27, 2016 at 16:03
What W. You never heard of the separation of curse and state?
Now that was funny ColorStorm, for sure.
August 27, 2016 at 16:16
I started a prayer group for my office staff at school and we do it every morning…a group of girls comes down later in the morning to pray in a small room too. I encourage all to do so and they now are so different for it. They are nicer, calmer, and draw others to do as they do.

Very nice…so nobody has said anything? That’s awesome Andi!
August 27, 2016 at 16:19
Teachers will look but our principal joins in with us. And we will continue to do so. If someone complains they better bring their best weapons because I won’t stop.
August 27, 2016 at 16:21
You go Andi!
August 27, 2016 at 16:22
August 27, 2016 at 16:41
Weapons? We are a bit going ho for a confrontation aren’t we? Developing an end times, Armageddon persecution complex there Andy? Think branch Davidian complex and you might want to rethink your position.
August 27, 2016 at 16:57
Mike, nobody meant literal weapons there, and you know it. Would you like to banned so that you can go cry how awful the Christian fundie is to you? Act like a human, please.
You can come here and pretty much say what you want to me, but leave my guests in peace
August 27, 2016 at 16:58
What did he mean by weapons then?
August 27, 2016 at 17:03
Well you were the “minister” decades, surely you can figure it out. But, anybody knows that nobody was saying get the guns and head for the bunker, Mike. Your complete understanding of things Christian has just proven to the entire world that your posturing as a former “minister” if false and a lie.
You are just a run of the mill rabid athesist evangelist like the rest of your rejecting friends.
Your desperation to flail against God and God’s people is appalling, and quite transparent. I notice you are prowling the internet all over today launching attacks on believers.
As I said, say what you want to me…but your assaults on the character of my guests won’t be tolerated.
I’m not assaulting. I’m asking questions.
August 27, 2016 at 17:07
Really Mike? And will any answer satisfy you? You know it won’t. You are not seeking information. You are seeking to destroy faith wherever you find it, aren’t you
Here is one for you. Explain why a minister of decades is not famiiar with a reference to spiritual weapons and assumes guns must be meant. A true minister would understand that.
August 27, 2016 at 17:09
And I’m sure i was asking Andy your guest, not you
August 27, 2016 at 17:12
Well I a sure it’s really too bad, as I won’t let you deal with my guest in ways I don’t like.
If it bothers Andi, she can tell me and I will shut up
It it bothers you, frankly I don’t care. You can read somewhere else if it does.
August 27, 2016 at 17:06
And… Still not an atheist, just not a Christian anymore
And I call hogwash on that Mike. You say the things your buddies say, you act the way they act. In fact, I can tell very little difference
You are a militant atheist evangelist.
You are not a Christian, and I have doubts you were ever a Christian minister, since you know so little
Thx wally. The only one assaulting anyone on this comment thread is you.
Then bye bye, Mike. Take hike. Go elsewhere.
Don’t abuse my guest. Easy.
You are correct. And assault is what you get when you abuse my guest.
That’s how I roll
August 27, 2016 at 17:17
Questions are abuse? I’d ask if Andy felt abused by my questions or comments.
Your question was idiotic Mike and was nothing more than an attempt to make Andi look like some nutcase.
She made a clear reference to spiritual weapons and you warned her against acting like David Koresh
Really Mike? That asking a question?
August 27, 2016 at 17:24
Are you going to allow Andi to answer the question for herself?
She can if she wants to LOL. And she actually did.
August 27, 2016 at 17:27
I meant the question I asked, which spiritual weapons did she expect them to bring? That one you never alowed her to answer for herself
August 27, 2016 at 17:29
She can, any time she wants. I
August 27, 2016 at 17:32
I’m sure she appreciates that you allow her that freedom.
August 27, 2016 at 17:02
Spiritual weapons….you read very literally.
August 27, 2016 at 17:04
Which spiritual weapons would you expect them to bring?
August 27, 2016 at 16:55
I was fortunate to have had a similar minded principal—
as one teacher to another…bravo!!!!!
Amen!!! I’m a secretary though….not a teacher. But thanks!!
August 27, 2016 at 17:08
Part of the family
August 27, 2016 at 17:10
Amen!! Thanks julie.
That was sweet Julie
😘 when I taught, I felt very strongly that the faculty, staff, kids and their families constituted a large family
August 27, 2016 at 16:39
SCOTUS rulings state that it must be student organized and led, but prayer groups are not unconstitutional. But adults, faculty and staff should not be doing this. It violates the establishment clause of the first amendment
Thanks for your comment.
August 27, 2016 at 23:05
Praise God sister for your prayer group!
August 27, 2016 at 23:06
Thank you! All the glory is His!!
August 27, 2016 at 23:12
So true Wally. I got kicked out of high school and that led me to become a Christian. A year later they allowed me to go back to my old high school. I started leading a prayer at the pole and a Bible study at lunch time. I think my desire for ministry began during those early years. The school would have their security check up on our room for the Christian club more than they did on me before I got in trouble. True story…
August 28, 2016 at 01:35
Sad but true. And the chances are they’ve picked up that profanity from the adults around them. A little boy I once cautioned about using the Lord’s name in vain asked me, suspiciously, if I was trying to scare him. Yet I take the Lord’s name in vain, myself, at times. Not much of a role model.
August 28, 2016 at 07:23
And that is even more sad, and more true. We forget they don’t make this stuff up, they get it somewhere..us!
August 28, 2016 at 06:16
that is a good one! never thought about it that way, i’m sharing 🙂 thanks
August 28, 2016 at 07:22
Thanks for reading and sharing!
