Anybody still write things on paper? If you do, that piece of paper might have started in a stand of pine woods right here in Southeast Arkansas. Pulpwood logging is a big industry around here. Even nicer is the fact that this is a very renewable resource, and good timber management has led to increased forests and wildlife habitat.

I had no idea Arkansas had pulp mills! I live in a mill town too, we are all about the paper, although it’s an industry that has suffered in recent times.

The two pulpmills north in the city are doing good. One of the plywood plants closed a while back, though IB. Paper mill is still considered one of the better jobs around here for not at least. It’s all pine logging, very little hardwood lumber these days.

That’s great, Wally, but we all know Arkansas’s greatest contribution to the world was Bill Clinton! 🙂

Funny, Tom. You know, it’s hard to be from here and not sort of be fond of Bill the home town boy, though.

Bill has his fans and detractors but I have to give him credit for being one of the best speakers I have ever listened to.

His rather huge moral failures in mind, one almost has to hand it to a guy who decides when he is a kid to be President…then actually does it.

Right, although I disagreed with him on several issues, and his womanizing got to be a joke, the guy was sharp.

Good to know, Wally! And yes, I do use paper to write the rough drafts of my poetry. So thank you for this. I will be much more conscious about the medium upon which I write my words of praise.

We are both old fashioned that way, Susan. I still use regular old steno pads for note taking!

And to that question your parents always asked Kylie gave me the answer the other day. Yes money does grow on trees, it’s made out of paper isn’t it. Smart 10 year old lol.

AND I love the fragrance of a pine forest! Isn’t it amazing what we take for granted?? Bob is especially a “hold it in my hand and turn the page” kind of guy!

Me too on the turn the pages. I don’t even have a Kindle LOL. I look like a nutty professor in my study, all the books and notepads strewn around LOL

And straps of paper with Bob…lots of scraps of paper. I throw NOTHING away with his handwriting on it until he says ok to it.

I am the notebook guy. I am a compulsive note taker. So, if I have heard it preached in the last 8 years, I probably have a record..cross referenced in my Bible too.
