This post says so much. By Pam at Joyindestructible
Jesus loves everyone yet, so few ever think to truly love Him in return. Most refuse to believe that such a man existed as the Son of God and the Son of Man. The idea seems impossible so, they dowsize Jesus into a form they can relate to and understand. Prophet, teacher, a myth, philosophical allegories are the boxes spiritually blind human beings use as a neat place to categorize and store Jesus. Once packaged and labeled, He is then stuffed in back of a dark closet of the mind. Jesus becomes another file to pull up from memory to be used as self justification or to impress another with personal intellectual prowess. In those who are bitter toward God because they don’t approve of how He governs or are mad because He didn’t acquiesce to their personal requests, Jesus becomes a weapon of ridicule to use against those who name, Jesus and are known as His followers. Jesus Christ is a favorite curse word for those who in their anger of not getting what-they-want-their-way, deny the existence of God even though, their whole angry state of being and every word they speak against God and His Son, defines them. Still, Jesus loves them and views them as equal with all of God’s errant children....read the rest of the post here: The Choice

Wally, I recently met a family of Jehovah’s Witnesses. My mom’s sister is also a JW. They don’t celebrate Christmas because they don’t believe Mary gave birth to “God.” They claim no human being could contain the wholeness of God. They believe Jesus is the “Son” of God, but that he is not, nor was he ever, God. They say Jesus is is seated on the right hand of God, so how can He also be God? They also believe Jesus was born some time in late fall, and not in the dead of Winter. So Christmas cannot be His birthday. In fact, they believe December 25th was chosen as Christmas Day because it closely coincides with a pagan holiday (Winter Solstice? Not sure.), thereby attracting more pagans to Christianity. Although December 25th is probably not the day on which Christ was born, that does not bother me at all. He was born nonetheless. I love Christmas because it’s the birthday of our Lord. What’s really interesting is that JWs don’t celebrate birthdays at all. They believe birthdays are also rooted in pagan beliefs. They say candles are a pagan method of keeping the bad spirits away. So does singing “happy birthday.” They point out that non of the followers of Christ celebrated their birthdays in the New Testament. They point out that at the birthday of King Herod’s step-daughter Herod granted her request for the head of John the Baptist. I was very surprised to learn that JWs don’t believe in Heaven or Hell. They say a “God of love” would never subject people to an eternity of pain, fire and torment. So I guess JWs basically ignore most of the Scriptures. My mom and I pray for the soul of her sister all the time.

Here in SE Arkansas, the JWs are really, really huge. They make a claim on Christianity, but they are not.Any denial of the Deity of Jesus negates any claim to Christian faith. There is a similar group I have encountered on here called Christadelphians. Similar theology.
As far as the date of Jesus birth? Yeah, might not have even been in the Winter. So what right As you stated, God still became incarnate as a man at some day.
Thanks Steve, that was really good input.
