Our reputation with our fellow man is important, but God looks at what Jesus has done for us – not what we have done. By His wounds we are made perfect. By His death and resurrection our slavery to sin as been abolished. We will be remembered by what He did for us.

Ah, that was lovely. It’s such an important concept to keep in mind, because while reputations matter, while what we do and how we act in the world matters, it is God’s favor that we really need and that favor is always to be found at the foot of the cross. Like with Job, your reputation can suffer, your friends can leave you, even your wife can tell you to curse God and die, but when you know you have God’s favor, you have all you’ll ever need.

Yes, I’ve been rather grateful for her lovely words a few times myself, Wally.

The diversity here is amazing and edifying for sure. So many good words and so many ways they can be said, and every different way has some use to somebody doesn’t it IB?

Oh amen. This is my consolation – that when I stand before the throne of God and He asks what I did with what was entrusted to me, I shall confidently point to Christ and say, “Ask Him”. 😀
