Why is a hypocrite so gloomy and soured up? He or she is pretending to have something that they simply do not have and living fear of being caught in their hypocrisy
Perfect, Wally. Something that goes along with that, when we surrender to Christ, we never have to surrender to people again. When we truly hand Christ that power, it is not lurking around and haunting us. Nobody can shame you, nobody can reveal your secrets, because they have already been given to Christ and He takes care of His own. Fear, shame, hypocrisy, condemnation, those things all stem from pride. No pride, no shame buttons for anyone to really push. Strength in weakness. That is a powerful position to be in, not our own power, but His. His grace is sufficient and that perfect love really does cast out fear.
Sometimes, okay, rarely, I feel bad for the rich and famous. But they make their living off the approval of others and as such they often have to live in fear of having their double lives exposed, of having paparazzi catch them in the act. When we are truly in Christ, we don’t have to live that way.
Hmm..lots to think about in that comment IB. I think in theory what you say is true, and represents how it should be for those of us who are believers in and saved by God’s grace. I think you are very blessed in that you seem to have found a great deal of peace with both yourself and with God.
I feel that I have as well. I have my sins, for sure, as we all do. Jut most of us don’t own up to them. But mine are really pretty much out there in the open. I can honestly say that at this moment I don’t have anything I feel compelled to hide away from the world.
I hate to say this, because I immediately thought of the Duggar family. I desperately want to stand by any family, because they are by virtue of faith my family also. But, the drudgery of the family as a whole living with the secrets they had must have been overwhelming. And for Josh himself, it concerns me vastly that he was able to simply continue to exist doing what he was doing with a smile on his face. Hmmm…that almost made my thought today a false statement, didn’t it? Oops. Now what do I do?
OK back to your point. I think what you say is true in theory, but many Christians remain haunted by the things they have done before they came to faith. And then there are those professing faith who harbor ongoing secrets, and those are the ones who tend to become legalistic, sour and controlling. So, good theory, but not always practiced.
are you supportive of what james has been doing in deleting comments and covering his tracks on his blog? do you think he is being dishonest? have you called him out on it?

Mike are you for real? Why would you come and pollute a very simple post with this? Don’t do it again. But no I have not seen what you say. What I have seen is almost nonstop comments from you on various Christian blogs apparently to tell every Christian blogger they are wrong. So take your childish accusations to another blog. Perhaps on of your militant atheists running buddies will jump on your bandwagon.
Mike lets look at this. I just asked you to not come here attacking another blogger and friend. Yet you just did it again. Yet if I deleted this I would face the same accusation. Please don’t continue this thank you

Not sure what Mike’s problem is Wally but it seems certain he is not a very big fan of fellow Christian bloggers.
God bless,
