When a bar opened up for business in a small town, the only church in the community decided to take action. They organized an all-night prayer meeting. The church members asked God to burn down the bar. Within a few minutes, lightning struck the bar, and it burned to the ground. The owner, who had heard about the prayer meeting, sued the church. The church denied responsibility.
After hearing both sides, the judge said, “It seems that wherever the guilt may lie, the owner of the bar believes in prayer, while the church doesn’t!”

why do you assume it was God who “answered their prayer”?
Praying for God to burn down a structure – much like the apostles wanting fire to come down and consume the people who refused them a place to stay- the answer from God is the same: “you do not know what manner of spirit you’re of. Luke 9:52-56.
When we pray according to God’s will, then all our prayers in Him are YES & AMEN.

Hey just a couple of things real quick. Just thinking we ought not to get too serious about what was simply some humor with a serious message. The message being that sometimes we pray with no real belief that God is listening and will respond…according to His will of course.
Other than that…Maybe I wasn’t tracking with exactly what you meant there.Perhaps you could clarify some. Thanks!
